Fuzhou Sponge City

Pilot project profile

 Sanjiangkou District of Fuzhou New Area is one of the pilot areas. It is planned to build about 162 sponge city construction projects in Sanjiangkou District during 2016 to 2018. The project involves seven categories that including sponge-type building and community, sponge-type roads and squares, sponge-type parks and green areas, water remediation and ecological restoration, water-logging management, pipe network construction and flood control.

Build goals

 By 2018, more than 15% of the urban built-up area will meet the requirement of runoff control rate of 75%. By 2020, more than 20% of the urban built-up area will meet the requirement of runoff control rate of 75%. By 2030, more than 80% Of the area to achieve runoff control rate of 75% requirements.
